Wrong forum I know but am not a member of a peugot one.
Wonderted if anyone here might have any ideas.
Basically car fine friday (last time I used it) and then this morning ran a bit rough for first mile and then orange engine light came on and it pretty much died. Previously has run absolutely fine.
It is a 2000 model and have had no probs previously with it.
Thanks in advance for any ideas...

Peugot 306 problem
Re: Peugot 306 problem
Your only hope is to get it to a private back-street garage and get the fault codes read. Costs about £30.
It's apparently possible to read them without the garage's computer tester, see
http://www.troublecodes.net/peugeot/
but this is dependent upon your being able to find the right connector and being confident to short out a wiring pin.
No probs if you get it right!
Once you have all of the fault codes, you then replace each sensor in turn until it seems ok.
Just gone through this with a Vectra, mine was cam position sensor and secondary ignition coil set.
£300.
Might be worth a good spray round in each connector and round the ignition module/plug caps with waterproofer spray first, just in case it's just damp and shorting somewhere.
Lastly, push/pull all wires as they go through bulkheads, as this is a standard place for wiring harnesses to chafe and earth onto the chassis.
Good luck!

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
