Trouble with Lights, On off On off On Off!

Post by seb421 »

Last night coming home on the bike gets on the motorway, then the lights go off sh1t, thinking i knocked the swtich some how when indicteding try to flick that, but realise its in the on position.

flicked it off and back on, they came on

this then happend more and more all the way home about 10 times over 20+ miles.

It's never ever done this before, and ive ridden in harder rain than last night's too

Not sure if its the HID bulb on its way out or if its some problem with the Ballast for the HID kit as i have it located under the bottom of the tripple clame behind the horn or bellow the horn cant remeber off top of my head, pissed me off as now ill have to whip the fairing off and sort the b8stard out and possibly switch back to Standard Halogen's

Any one else had any trouble like this?

Last time this happened to me it turned out to be the H4 connector behind the bulb, but as you mention a conversion...

Gotta be a connection somewhere, if it's downstream of the relay then current can be high so check for burnt connectors.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Spot on Tony. Had the same happen to me. It was shorting out and actually melted some of the connector block. Simple action. Replace with New Bulb.
