Flush mount indicators
Can anybody who has already fitted the flush mount indicators give me some advice as to the correct size that will fit the Firestorm. The front fairing holes are 55mm wide by 32mm high. There are 2 sizes available:
Medium 70mm x 33mm (not sure if the 33mm is enough overlap for best fit for the hole?)
or
Large 105mm x 55mm (are they too large to not fit snugly against the fairing?)
I don't want to end up ordering 2 sizes and have to send one back. More hassle than it is worth.
Cheers
Nigel

Re: Flush mount indicators
You talking about the cat's eye ones or the raised teardrop ones?
If it's the cat'seye, you're right, the large ones won't sit flush- nearly, but not quite. A soft rubber back plate helps, though.
Teardrop ones- I found I had to drill two tiny hole fore and aft of the opening to bolt them on.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Yeah,
It is the Cats Eyes ones that I am thinking about. If there was a size between the Medium & Large it would be perfect.

Re: Flush mount indicators
Yep, they're what I fitted-same size and all.
I did all four-drilled the tail section as I had high level cans on the bike so they fitted better. If you are going to do this be aware you need to get the position. The body of the indicator is threaded and isn’t that long.
They look nice when fitted but are not as visible as normal stem type indicators.

Re: Flush mount indicators
these were fitted on mine when i got it ive just mesured them n there the same size as the smaller ones wasnt over keen on the look of them to be honest plus i found that i got pulled out on as they dont stand out as much as stem ones wich is what ive fitted now n look a lot better to (mini with long stem just fits through)
97 model ,black, plus 2 rear sprocket ,double bubble screen ,rentec sports rack.......much more to come
Re: Flush mount indicators
I prefered the look tbh, well, more so with the high levels. It gave the bike a more flowing body line imo.
They were not clear to see though in general conditions-that was always a concern.
Given the option again I wouldnt fit them-stick to mini/micro indicators. They'll do a better job
