Pop goes the carbie

Post by DPR11 »

Hey all, something that i have noticed on the few runs that i have been on since getting the storm, occasionally get a popping back through one or both of the carbs when blipping the throttle coming down the gears, it pulls well and there is no shortage of power, should i be concerned?

Not really, that all do it to some extent or another. Balancing the carbs helps a bit.

Thanks Rich, good to have a second opinion, like i say doesn`t seem to affect performance, and only happens every once in a while.

Mine does this, some times wont do it for ages, and some times will do it a bit, depends on the bikes mood.... does it more if i have been hammering it and then going down through the gears with high rev's

its been a while since i had my carbs sorted @ 15,500 miles in may/june ... it was a while after that, that it started again now on 23,500 miles and plan to get them done soon and the dynojet kit fitted when the blueflames arrive

Can't be sure, but since I fitted an ignition advancer it hasn't coughed back once......

(Can't be sure 'cause I also had it set up properly on a Dyno about then, so not absolutely sure which one's had the desired effect. But my money's on the advancer).

Funny how you don't notice the absence of something, until you're reminded of it. I hadn't noticed until I thought about it.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
