Rider Training

Post by ktd001 »

Hiya All

Just thought I'd tell you about a training course that's up for grabs. Run by the Met, it's called Bike Safe, http://www.bikesafe-london.co.uk . It costs £25 for a whole day (includes coffee & lunch) and you get a load of riding tips and two observed rides by police bikers. They don't try and nick you (even with race cans on!) and they give realistic advice based on your level of experience and expertise. You go out 2 bikes to one copper (very disconcerting, seeing them in your mirrors all the time) and they let you know how you do. They ask you to keep your speed down in built up areas but basically you ride normally. It doesn't technically class as advanced training but Devitts and Carol Nash are giving 10% off for anyone who's been on the course.
For £25 it's well worth the experience, even if it's only to find out what the law really is when it comes to filtering!
