Exhaust, How noisy ?

Post by voodoo-music »

Been wondering if my machine has the standard exhaust, it seems rather loud compared to most

I think it has as the cans have honda printed on em but wondering if these are standrd or maybe have the baffles removed. When i look down the back of the large opening of the cans i can see three seperate pipes inside, is this right ?

it has had the outer disc removed.
sounds good eh :biggrin

standard they just have one hole about 1 1/2" diameter, recessed in a 3" plate, which some owners drill a ring of holes in, then decide it's still not beefy enough so they drill the whole plate off.

is it too loud for you?
you could drill it out completely and then fit some cheap ebay db killers

use the forum search for bafflectomy

i'm sure you could get a blingy metal plate tacked on if you really wanted to.
or shop for some new cans with baffles.
you'd have to have the throttle pretty wide to get a nicking tbh, compared to a bog standard harley gayboyson for example.
whereabouts are you??
ive got some surplus std zorsts lying around somewhere...
too heavy to post imo but you can pick them up cheap on ebay cos nobody wants them lol, not all replacement cans are loud, some just emphasise the deep grunt of the twin without being too brash.

you would notice the weight difference though with some nice ally / titanium or carbon aftermarket jobbies
