Chain and sprocket recommendations please

Hi all,

I'm coming up to a new set of sprockets and a chain. I've had a look on flea bay and there seems to be a lot to choose from.

I understand I want steel sprockets as the torque would eat up alloy ones in no time.

Can anyone recommend / post a link to something decent but not super money.

I just finished putting a DID chain on tonight....

I'll see if I can find the details - it WAS cheap (from WeMoto)

BUT...

They did supply it with a split link - I had to argue hard, and provide evidence before they saw fit send a soft link (FOC, natch)


Still it's all on now, then tyres to come (Just over £190 for BT-023s)

i use JT sprockets [15 tooth front] and gold o/x ring chains, they never fail. you just need something solid to whack the link pins onto [25kg weight works for me] use a flat punch in the centre of the link to pop the rivets right through, then something with s dull point to open up the rivet, then just smack them until they are well flatened against the link.

yeah....! i normally wear my hat and chaps when i do my chains. never had one fail yet using the wild west method....chain tools are for pussys!!!!!! who dont have a spurs. LMAO

lol also missing the bit where you have your left ankle grafted back on and new hanger and gearchange assy....

I use bog standard stuff. I got C&S fitted at Southernspeed Services in sutton as I couldn't be arsed to do it myself. 85 quid all in. Seemed cheap to me. They last OK as long as they're cleaned & lubed on a regular basis. Not really into bling gold/red/blue stuff. Some of the stuff offered on E blagg is shite.

Spoke to a mate at Haines Bike shop in Gloucestershire, he's ordered me a kit with a heavy duty long life chain. He used to own a storm when they first come out and he know's his stuff.

Kit was £118 with a bit of discount and £53 to fit it.............thought about doing it myself (do my WR) but then thought I'd rather have the peace of mind!!!!!

I wasn't sure about any of the stuff offered on ebay, just didn't seem to have enough details to be confident to buy!
