Speed sensor - again

My speedo has died again after sulking, then coming back to life for a while. No joy on ebay etc - does anyone know whether there is any interchangeableness between other Honda sensors before I shell out £112+vat at David Silvers?

Yes, almost always, but you'll need to take yours to a big breakers and see what they've got that looks the same.
Take a vernier gauge with you to check bolt centres and how far it sticks into the engine.

They won't take them back again, so make sure you have a suitable one.

But it's more lilkely to be the back of the speedo itself than a sensor, unless you've already metered it out and are sure that this is where the problem is.

To find if the unit is common to any other Honda models - Look up the part no. (37700-MBB-000) for speedo sensor in the reverse part no. look up search facility

Cheers for that Wicky, very useful to know.
I've metered out the connections as per the system inspection in the manual, and again for the speed sensor itself, and all the readings seem ok. Anything else I can check before trying a different sensor? (big thanks to Benny for the loan of one)

If you get the 0 to 5V pulse on the pink/green wire at the cluster end then its probably the speedo that needs replacing.
