Ducati Sound

Post by oldbikeman »

My standard Storm sounds boring ,would louder cans make it sing like like a Ducati when revved up ? The motors are pretty similar I believe. What a lovely noise to play with.

race cans will get you most of the way to a Duc noise, but you could also try and to have some loose spanners in a tin box strapped above the engine, this will help you replicate the sound of the dry clutch.

but on a more serious note, each pipe has a different note, and you cant beat the sound of a good pipe on a V2, but they dont all sound like a Ducati, so you need to come to a Storm meet up and listen to all the options.

like it, that was a good relpica of the dry clutch  ,

But it looks like you need an excited spanish/italian boy to assist you, so I may stick with the box of spanners

Nice one Jim, you missing the old bike at all ? On the subject of old steeds, here's mine. Not quite as deep sound as I kept the baffles in. It didn't run too well with them out once the custom headers were on. I did like the rasp they made though.
Not really mate, I miss how easy it was to wheely but the handling needed a lot of money spent to get it anywhere near the SP. Even then it would be lacking in power, I am more that happy with the SP. Would like to add a nice tourer to the stable though (Triumph Sprint/Busa not really sure)

Ducati sound?
They all claim that, and show you a service history, then you find it wasn't sound at all, mostly filler and used to deliver Pizzas.
STick with hondas, at least they're cheap.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
