Has anyone had their seat recovered or had a custom one made, preferably by a supplier in the North West area.
I was thinking of looking into a new seat with a bit more comfort.
As I get older it seems the ability to ignore butt ache is diminishing alot sooner.
Any ideas anyone . Cheers Phil
A Pain In The butt
Re: A Pain In The butt
I had the seat of my Yamaha FZR750RT Genesis recovered by R.K. Leighton, http://www.rk-leighton.co.uk/
They did a really top job for £70 including postage (18 months ago). They added an additional layer of foam which made a big difference.
Hope this helps,

Couldnt entertain a softer saddle, its the only thing that stops my piles falling out and making friends with my knees..........

Re: A Pain In The butt
Had my FZS600 seat covered by this guy a few years back-did a great job. Cost £35 at the time.

Re: A Pain In The butt
haven't had my Storm one done, but have had seats on my other bikes done by Tony Archer http://www.tonyarcher.co.uk/ always done a cracking job and none too expensive either, also uses quality Gelpads (if you require them fitted) rather than some of the lesse quality pads fitted by others

Only worry is I heard on grapevine that Tony is none too well at present, and therefore there may be some delay if one requires a Tony Archer seat.
Re: A Pain In The butt
its 3 votes for Tony Archer now. I had him do my storm seat with higher foam and gel pads front & rear, then a new cover to suit. Not cheap at £200, but I wanted someting that didnt change the lines of the bike.
Looks like this
.
I still have to move about to stop numb elbow by 100 miles, but it is beter than before. May well be that I dont have enough padding on my butt
