***Warning IL4 Photos****

Post by Beamish »

I know IL4s arent what this site is all about and I promise this will be the last time I picture whore but this is the ride I have ended up with.

I wanted a quick tourer and you know what? It is exactly that. maybe its riding an SP that makes me think this way but I did 200 miles on it first day and felt fresh as a daisy. I jumped straight off the SP on to this and it was like sitting in your favourite arm chair :plainsmile Took it for a blast and knew the decision was correct. I purposely went for the K5/K6 due to the great midrange, sadly lacking in all newer IL4 thous (bar the new two stroke Blade). Its ridiculously fast but unlike loads of other big thous you can leave it in 6th and grunt your way around. You may or may not know that I have tried loads of bikes out lately and in my opinion the 1098/1198 is the best bar none/closely followed by the RSV4 but I have recently been signed on for another 6+ years in the RAF (so no goodbye welfare package) hence no big money swaps. I still love the Firestorm but more so the SP. Times change and riding decisions change. I hope I will still be welcome on this forum as I have some knowledge and experience on two of the models of VTR.

Stay safe!

I'd still ride with yer.

Hang around, you don't have to have one to know about them.

Nice bike, btw.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

For being so nice you can have a blast AMCQ, tell you what though it scared the shi* out of me for the first 40 miles :biggrin I had forgotten how strong and how long the power/torque curve was. It was like Tron the video game coming back from Bedford up the A1 at 10pm

Think you might be right there given what they are all banging on about on the news right now.

My company shut its final salary scheme earlier this year.......I had 25ys banked in there and now Its like I left the company  Got to sort out my own pension to fill the rest of the gap, and it will cost a big wedge of my pay to get back even half of what I could have earned had the pension stayed till I retired.

we might just be the generation who work till they die...........god getting really depressed now, need to ride bike to forget all this sh1t..........or drink more

havent you heard the latest? By 2016 the government are initialising a gradual shrinking of the allowed cc displacement starting in 2011. The idea is to get down to a maximum capacity of 23cc four strokes, but the good news is that they are allowing any amount of cylinders, I have this evening put my order in for a Honda Bee Storm which Honda say will be ready for 2015, so getting in before the Yamaha Wee 1, both bikes are reported to be a V16 configuration putting out 2.1 hp at the wheel, so we can look forward to standing quarters into the 17 minute bracket. Honda have also announced that a "thumper" version a single cylinder is also in development but the size of the piston (5.1mm) is proving problematical with the amount of moving mass.........
