Had crap weather y'day on a ride over to see my mum/sis/son etc on a round trip of 220 miles, it was bloody freezing and weather pants..:-(
SO, today, sun out, bikes out, washed down and off we go, no particular route, so thought we'd hit the road out of Corsock and head for the 712 through the Galloway Forest and over to Newton Stewart for a change..
Clattershaws nr the Loch..
Not too sure of the name of this place, it was a HUGE drop tho of around at least 80-100 ft, again on the 712..If you were scared of heights, you'd defo not want to be stood at the end..
Carluith Castle as we stopped off for a coffee at the tea room..
View of the Solway from the Top
Drop down inside..
We had a good ride out today. Spotted another (faster coloured) yellow storm with a few other bikes not too far from Clattershaws as we headed towards it. Got home, and I wanted to go back out, but was cpt sensible and got other stuff done as called it a day, but did wonder how many more nice days we have left to ride..
Great weather n Galloway Forest today..

Nice photos ABB, strange to see places I grew up in other people ride reports.............there are now 3 of us on the forum [you, me & bikerPiker] who know where Corsock is ...............if it gets any more popular ther might have to reopen the post office and the school!
I had to make do with going for a walk, as blood alcohol levels were way too high from last night / morning to even risk riding the bike...........probabaly wasnt safe walking the canal towpath!

Good pics Abb ,we were out a rideout over past Clatteringshaws a few weeks ago ,then into Newton Stewart for a bite to eat and home past Glentrool and into Girvan.
The Newton Stewart/Clatteringshaws road is normally very quiet with traffic ,but the day we went there was 100's of spectators lining the roadside for a car rally ,it was good to see those old escorts and novas giving it some .

Its a lovely little village..Not that far from me, I used to my dogs up to old water works and Springers being Springers, just let 'em loose to run amock in all that forestry. do you miss home when you read stuff? I miss home terribly and plans this yr fell apart but next yr I will make it my business to go home for good at some point. Jobs make it difficult but things on the go,so we'll see.. If I read and looked at pics of my old haunts, it'd make me worse lol...That road to Newton Stewart is crackign for the bikes though...
