Back when I had an SV650 one of the mods you could do was to raise the front of the tank with spacers.

This allowed a slightly better airflow into the top of the airbox. Would the same thing work on the 'Storm?

I did it to the SV as well as stripping off the foam from the underside of the tank (it was only there as noise reduction) which changed the intake sound to a nice deep rumble.

Thoughts?

might be worth a try - cant say ive heard of it before like.... the snorkel on the storm airbox is in a stupid place imo, points down into a recess in the frame, behind the headstock...
got to be room for improvement there,

The spacers we used on the SV were about 30mm tall. All you needed was the spacers and longer bolts.

I'll give it a go, Nothing Ventured etc etc. On the SV it just allowed a less restricted airflow into the top of the airbox where the inlet hole was, and with a BMC race filter it sounded goooood! Nie deep induction rumble especislly with the noise deadening foam on the tank removed.

With the near straight through Renegade carbon can and Micron Race Downpipes it sounded evil!! Rumbling and popping everywhere with the odd "accidental" backfire thrown in! It spat 6" flames on the limiter!!
