Spark plug spanner needed

Post by bandsawman »

Having no Honda toolkit with my Firestorm, you can imagine how I'm struggling to get a plug spanner that will do the job.
Does anyone know where I can buy the right one, or can anyone sell me a used one?

Cheers, Mike.

IMHO the original toolkit one is perfect for the job, just enough articulation to get in and out easily abd long enough, too.
There;s a complete toolkit on ebay for a tenner at the moment.
But otherwise try this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Spark-Plug-Spanne ... 27afe7afbc (EDIT: But this is a 14mm and you need 12mm- ta, Benny)
You might need to shorten it and redrill the tee-bar position lower down, though.

a 3/8 drive 18mm deep socket will do the job as well, thats what i use.
a 1/2" drive one will be too wide to fit down the recess and will need turning down a bit to fit.
iirc it's a 12mm plug spanner you need. might get one from a car accessory shop.
last time i looked in halfords they had everything but.

i got a long box spanner with 10 & 12 on either end. (that's not 12mm across the flats btw, as said it;'s 18mm. dont know why they call it 12mm!
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

I've thought of that - I can always make it longer.
The important thing is that it's slim enough.

Spanner arrived, I had to extend it by a couple of inches but I'm sorted now
