Did some fettling on WaxStorm. Adjusted the gear linkage, fitted a chin spoiler, standard one nowt fancy. Changed the leavers put standard ones back on.

Had a visit from DJ Walker & swapped a pair of forks, rusty stanchions & blown seals for a brand new under tray...

Finished me fettling did a bit of tidying up, put them all back & locked up...

Still got bits to do so will be back out there tomorrow...
You doing better than I am Mac

Chris.
Indeed I did venture out to the cave yesterday, The Murvinator got some luvin this time.

Removed the Led Strobe Indicators as been informed several times by following riders that they are shite to see spesh in the sun. Fitted a set of later style standard ones, had to adjust the Indi relay as the flash rate was very slow... The one I had on it was an adjustable one for the LED's, quick tweak & happy with the flash rate.

Adjusted the chain, checked the oil level, cleaned the wheels. Left it out side but put all the others back in the cave.

Had a coffee & fag break, got me gear on & took The Murvinator out for a spin to the chemist to pick up me drugs 8O

I had a strange dream this morning that someone pointed out to me that I had a flat front tyre on me bike which was parked up, don't know the context of the rest of said dream just this bit stuck in me brain when I woke up... Weird... :confused

I will of course be checking me tire next time I'm out there...

Just done TPS, 766 to 580. Needs drilling to get tue last 80 and as I was on the drive (no workshop/garage) it started spitting down which has now ruined my riding plans.
I did get a used TPS connector though so have made a test rig to make life easier.

Pop the brass inserts out that will give you more adjustment. use a small washer under the bolt, brass is there to stop the plastic crushing. No need to drill. the other trick is to bend the tabs...

If you drill it there's no going back, fek it up & you'll need a replacement...

Cheers Mac.
I also noticed the T piece on my carb-fuel tank vacuum line, probably installed for balancing, had lost it's cover, so I sorted that too.
It cleared up so I went for a spin over to Treens, and the bike is noticeably smoother on pick up and no more banging on the overrun or spitting back in to the airbox.
So something worked. Probably both had +ve effect.

Pulled 'em all out, again...

Had a fettle of Nue Red, main thing was to change the starter cable. ( I'm looking at a way of making up new ones but be buggered if I can find the correct connector for the relay end... I have a plan tho !...)

Any way gave the relay connections a clean both male & female. Had a starter cable in stock that looked nice & clean no corrosion.

Had a feckin awkward time getting the replacement one in. There are a couple of cable holders to deal with, but that's the easy bit... Plan A/ with tape failed. The real tight spot is where it passes through the frame/battery box. Not a lot of room as that's where the loom fits through as well, even with the battery out there's not enough movement to squeeze a doubled up cable through.

So plan B/ after a ponder... the old cable has the fitting cut off. pulled through the frame gap. New cable passed through with the Starter connection on, zip tie the old to the new 4 small ones, the rubber boot was off as that can be refitted when done.

Pulled it through enough to to fix the cable at the relay end, delt with the cable holders. Unbolted the old one off the starter, new one on after putting the boot back on of course...

Fully charged batt back on, gave it a go it defiantly spins over faster, was a bit laboured previously hence the change...

Still wont start..Grrrr. Next stop coils on another day as frankly I can't be arsed today...

I like the detail you post up when you are doing a job on one of your Storm's Mac, it's ideal with it being fresh in your mind and very helpful for anyone trying to the same job either now or in the future

I finally got out on the Storm today, the weather was looking rather changeable, but I decided to go anyway.
20 miles into my ride it started to spit with rain, I can't post here what my language was like inside my crash helmet :silent: :silent:

Anyway I decided to continue with my planned ride. The light rain was hit and miss for the rest of my ride, although back home it was still dry when I got back. Regardless of the wet stuff it was still great to be out again 8) 8)

On another note I had an indicator bulb blow when out. The first time this has happened on the Storm. I have an Audicator I fitted on the bike years ago (in case anyone has not heard of an Audicator, it's a device that gives out a beeping sound which ramps up the volume to tell you when you have not turned off the indicator, a really important factor on a motorcycle). The Audicator gave out a different sound to warn me about the blown bulb. I wondered what was going on a first, but it was the Audicator that drew my attention to the faster flashing than normal indicator bulb on the speedo pod

What a brilliant idea. I could do with one of them. Does it also beep when you are reversing?

Spin out on The Murvinator, A/to go shopping. B/to test luggage arrangements for Wales.

A/ Went well except I forgot to get 1 item...Doh not urgent so no worries.

B/ I have a large Baglux tail pack it's quite big & very stable but maybe not big enough for 3 days kit for the Wales do. I was gonna take a dry bag ruck sack as well. As you can't move the tail pack back any further due to the way it fits, there ain't a lot of room for the ruck sack when used... So that's a fail. Plus it's not waterproof... So big dry bag it is strapped to the back tried & tested.

As a bonus I got to practise some Wales weather riding as it feked it down on the way home, well M2 was drenched & mucho spray, then it dried up as I came off the M2 & then it proper came down as I came off the by pass. Strangely it was bone dry for the last few miles into Grain...

Note to self don't wear the mesh jacket & boots next weekend...

  No idea, as my bike has no reverse gear
It's very handy for bikes without self cancelling indicators.

You can read more about the Audicator here: https://www.audicator.com/
