I've been looking for some pads to relace the very poor Kyotos currently fitted, based on reccommendations for this site and other plus the lack of pad options for the std caliper, I'd pretty much decided to fit EBD HH pads.
However when searching for the best price I came across EBC Extreme Pro compound : link

EBCs info suggests they are far superior to comparable pads, I know you should take such claims with a pinch of salt but I'd like to fit the best pads available so does anyone have any first hand experience with these? are they worth the extra cost over and above HHs or is pound for pound the HH compound the best option?
Also what's the method for removing the rear spring from the damper?

Get yourself some SBS pads, either the more street friendly Street Excel, or if your a hooner, get the Race Sintered!
Much much better pads, and much cheaper too!!

I had looked at these but was put of by a couple reports of rapid wear and lots of dust, plus I couldn't find a supplier to find a price, who stocks these? in fact any recommendations for genrel bike stuff brakepads, oil, suspension parts etc welcome.I've been looking at the demon tweeks catalogue for ideas is there a better 'online' supplier?nora2004 wrote:Neither! lol

thanks guys, why do you think the EBCs went off? heat cycling changing the compound some how as they go through multiple heating up cooling down sessions? how worn were they wnen this occured ? They are much cheaper now at £30 a pair.....well you did say you wanted the best......anyway the latest change of pads I went to David Silver and got these....
http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/VTR1 ... art_67101/ nearly half the price for sintered pads and I can say they didnt feel much different to the posh Brembo's which seemed to give out shed loads of dust, but for feel and price Im a fan of the David Silver genuine replacements.
Re the Brembo Sintered how do they compare to the EBC? and as for price the EBC Extreme Pro are £37 a pair

I agree spending over £70 on front brake pads does sound a little crazy, when other brands EBC, SBS, Bendix etc cost a around £40 for a set,
