Hi all, just put the new sprockets on and getting the new chain on tomorrow.
But, question. The original sprocket was tight in all directions on the carrier. The Renthal replacement has about 1mm moving on the push/pull once the nut is torqued to 54nm. It doesnt quite nip up to the sprocket rather just doing upto the sprocket carrier.
Is this normal? And more importantly safe?
Renthal front sprocket
Re: Renthal front sprocket
There should always be a little bit of play in the sprocket mount; if yours has lots of slack make sure that the sprocket isn't a 520 one, compare thickness to check.
It may just be that the old one was jammed in place with loads of old chain grease.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
Re: Renthal front sprocket
Its not the forward and back play the chain would have mate. Its the side to side play, ie from nut to inside washer if that makes sence?
It is a 530 sprocket, even stamped on it aswell as packaging (I checked the part number matched that stamped on the packaging to make sure it didnt get mixed up).
