Mornin' all

Post by Sonkut »

Hey,

I've recently got my new firestorm, i've seen them pass me once in a while and always loved them so when i was looking for a project bike I checked I could afford to insure it and went to find one.

I thought it would be wise to get into a forum for this bike, as they are such.. whats the word.....
Fanatic? no, maybe not.... devotional maybe.... Excentric, thats the one.
They are quite excentric vehicles, made for the madness.

Anyhow, i figured they would have a good following and it would be a great place to get advice XD

I got a crash damaged year 2000 firestorm, 1000F. I'm planing on doing a bit of a street fighter design, as i'm not such a lover of the race style anymore, since my last bike the ER6N, i have a great love for mostly naked bikes with 2 hulking great cylinders to make it sound awsome. Obviously there aren't many bikes that sound as beefy the the firestorm and i don't like cruisers (I've tried, but i just can't get used to grinding my footpegs when i want to corner).

Anyhow, I'm your latest resident nutter,
Nice to meet you :)

Hi Sonkut,

Welcome to the forum - sounds like you've got an interesting project ahead!! Make sure you do the CCT's (cam chain tensioners) as the Honda ones have a habit of letting go and f**king the engine.

Have a look in the tech section for advice on everything including the cct's and also 'rider on a storm' can sort you out with some superb new manual tensioners for a very reasonable cost.

I'm sure you'll find everyone on here as helpful and sarcasitic as you'd expect for a motorbike forum!

Steve
