calipers

this is probably a stupid question but...is there a difference between the gold calipers and the black ones fitted to the later models???

Pretty sure that they're identical except for paint.

Not sure which colour stops faster, though.

i didn't think there was a differance tbh...i was at squires lastnight and came across a heated debate between two blokes about the calipers on their bikes...1 was a Yreg with the black ones fitted and the other was a Sreg with the gold ones...the bloke swore blind the pistons were bigger in the black ones and they stopped better than his mates gold ones...the debate ended with a for sale sign taped to the front of the Yreg with "offers" written on it...i made a chip of £2000 and got a look of disgust...was worth a try i thought.
