Today I was out for a blast and had to stop for a refuel (as you do when you own a storm) Anyway, pulled up to the pump and for some reason I was drawn to the middle pump in the group of 3. I usually just fill up with bog standard 95 ron unleaded but today I put some of the premium stuff in http://www.tesco.com/Momentum99/
Now the good bit. I headed for home and by heck she was purring away like a happy kitten. She seemed to be pulling loads better and felt a whole lot better in cruising mode too.
Question: was it me just imagining better performance cause I had put more expensive fuel in ? Or are there definite benefits to using the expensive stuff??
What is the best premium petrol in your opinion and what do you usually fill up with?

I found that the higher octane stuff gave me less vibration. I didn't notice other benefits though. This was confirmed to me when I had to refuel with some independent's fuel which gave a noticeable increase in vibes.
No bike (yet).

Re: premium petrol types
mine runs like a bag of poo on the cheapo 95
maybe cos of the +4 advancer?
definately takes off a hell of a lot quicker too with the good stuff.
tbh it depends who im riding with & where i am.... some country stops dont have 97 and if im on a long bimble like the 400 miler on saturday i put in what i can afford lol....
100 miles worth of the good stuff is like £24+

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.
