Better front brake

Post by Henners »

Hello all - new to the forum and new to Firestorms :D

I want to improve the front brake. I've just stripped and cleaned the calipers, fitted stanless lines and EBC HH pads, new fluid and a thorough bleed however the lever still feels 'soft' and there is no initial 'bite' although I can get the front tyre to howl it doesn't feel like I'm braking that hard - basically a lack of feel. Before I fit new springs etc can anyone tell me the pros and cons of fitting a CBR600RR master cylinder? Will it give me more feel? What year of CBR is recommended?

Many thanks in anticipation - Henry

get some decent tyres for starters. no point stopping the wheel if the rubber doesnt grip.
first time i slammed on hard with hot supercorsas i nearly snapped my wrists & went over the bars lol 8O

if you ride the bike hard & always hard on the brakes i can recommend goldfren ceramic carbon pads - theyre very good when theyre hot!
(not so good in the wet though but you wont be slamming on anyway when its pissin down if you have any sense!)
they last for ages too and as theyre not sintered with metal they hardly wear the discs at all.

full set on ebag for £40 free del.
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.
