Well its getting close for the missus to get here dream come true . CBr 600 , now dont know much abut these little pocket rockets . I know they started with the metal frame than changed over to the alloy ones.

ADVISE ON CBR 600 plz
Re: ADVISE ON CBR 600 plz
Rick,
there was an article on buying CBR's in PB some time ago, I will see if I can find it and scan you a copy.
the last of the steel framed bikes are considered the optimum balance between performance and usability, after that I think they went more race rep.

Cheers for that, I dont want her to have a full on race model . She loves bikes and I would like her to have the one thats going to be the best for her both ways

My daughter has a CBR600RR 2007, which she loves and has no problems handling. She isn't a speed freak but loves the aesthetics and ride.
I think the CBR600 F4 is the weapon of choice for new riders looking for a nice, quick bike.
Best of luck with your task.

Well I have had a rummage through the toilet library and can't find it. Perhaps was longer ago than I thought and I have chucked it in the bin. Sorry

ADVISE ON CBR 600 plz
I used to have the 600 f, the one with the seat like a storm rather than a split one.
It was an excellent first bike, dead comfy, fast, handled well and looked nice :-)

you will find theres not much difference in price m8, in fact the older steelies, pre-injection will probably fetch more as there is a race series dedicated to them.pariah wrote:should i by her the cheaper metal frame or the newer alloy framed model. ? what if any are the pros and cons of the older and newer model ?

step up to the ally frames and you're up against r6, zx6r etc so not many want them, apart from the early f4i which is a favourite with stunters so again is a much sought after model.
the inbetween models though, you can still pick up a half decent specimen for a grand if you shop around
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Re: ADVISE ON CBR 600 plz
OK update on this subject. We popped into our local dealer yesterday and they had 2 cbr 600s in, the steel framed and alloy framed ones.
She tried them both and did not like the riding position, she said they felt top heavy. So looks like were on the hunt now for a machine with more touring position for her, Some thing like the 500 or 600 touring version.
However , sayin gthat i,m looking for a cheapish bike to get her on the road if poss this year , so if any one knows of a decent small bike for under a grand let me know ok ?
Cheers
