Petrol light.

Been riding my firestorm a few days now and thought i'd ask roughly how many miles would you get after the fuel light comes on. Also can you buy aftermarket fuel gauges for these bikes. cheers

100 miles if 16l tank (old model) and 130 if the newer 19l.

New ones have a gauge, but the trip meter is all you need

Depends on the year of the bike and the size of the tank, but for me on a 1997 bike and 16 litre tank, and for the majority of people on here with the same, once the light comes on, it will take about 12-14 litres and will have done 90-110 miles depending on how fast I have been driving.

I agree with Benny on this one. I'll get the red light on sometimes between 65 and 85 miles through town riding too and from work. Motorway speeds (about 80) I was getting 90+ miles and then filling up before the light came on.

I too get my best MPG sat on the motorway at speeds between 90 and 100mph. If I sit at about 80 it seems to do less, and if I hammer it through the twisties even less again.

Although, the best MPG ive had was after spending a week not doing much more than driving around with Sarah on her 125 doing no more than 55 ish.

Yes officer. I know I was doing 100mph but this bike is more efficient at that speed. It gets me where I want to go quicker and its also a lot more economical than riding at 70mph and looking after the enviroment by burning less petrol is worth the extra few mph sir.
