I need to do these shortly on an 2002 f2 model. Please can somebody furnish me with:

The required shopping list for parts/gaskets/seals ect

Any specialist tools for the job. Eg: feeler gauges mm or inches

Torque settings & clearance gaps.

Are there any threads available like the CCT replacement thread?

Is the Haynes manual of any use?

no special tools are needed, no gaskets or seals...

but get yourself a magnet on a stick and calculator and a set of long metric feelers (seeing as the shims are marked in metric) and also some thread locking compound.
if you want the job done in 1/2 a day, get yourself a hotcam shim set in 9.82mm diameter... as linked to elsewhere.
search hotcams and you will find the link,
thats all you need, may be worth getting a litre of oil as well and have some clean rags to hand as the work area must be spotless.

yes you can follow the haynes but obviously beware when replacing the cams, same as cct job.
just make sure the rear is set up to tdc on compression stroke at RT and the front on compression stroke on FT when it comes to removing the cams

you will need to remove the cam cover and centre guide if any shims need changing. dont forget to put a rag down the chain tunnel before removing the bolts.
10mm socket/ ring spanner rqd to remove the cover, guide, cct and cam top bearing half.

with the cam cover off and cylinder at correct tdc, slip a feeler between the cam and bucket....
measurements are in the pdf manual, or in another thread i put up a year ago.
aim for the middle measurement, but bear in mind the shimkit goes up in 0.05mm increments.

if you need to replace any shims, check tdc again, do not move the engine, remove the top bearing cover, remove the cam, use the magnet to lift out the bucket with shim still inside.

BE SURE TO ACCOUNT FOR EVERY SHIM - YOU DONT WANT THINGS LEFT IN THE ENGINE OR YOU WILL KILL IT.

place the right size shim on top of the valve retainer and refit the bucket.
its pretty obvious which one to use.... if yours is stamped 1.65 and it's 0.10mm loose, then try a 1.75 shim from the kit.
the feeler should be a nice sliding fit between the bucket and cam - you will get the hang of it.

rinse and repeat.

THIS MUST BE DONE WITH A COLD ENGINE

take care when refitting the cam top bearing halves.... tighten them diagonally with threadlock, making sure they are sat square.
recheck the clearance with the cam refitted.

dead easy, just take your time and be meticulous..... this is why honda charge a fortune for the job....
i will be surprised if you have to change more then 2-3 shims.
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

I'd suggest that you get a jetwasher right up under the oil cooler and behind it, as any grit or dirt sticking to the bracing bar that runs across behind the steering stem, and the mounting for the oil cooler, will drop right into the engine when you're trying to check the front clearances.....

And because of that I'd do an oil and filter change after a handful of miles, just to be sure.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

wise comment that tony.... i do the same with rebuilds on machinery at work.... whenever possible i steam clean externally or for smaller stuff i get it in the safety clean bath before stripping down.
another tip is rolll some backing paper under the bike or an old white sheet... makes it easier to spot anything you might drop, rather than worrying it may have dropped into the engine.
