Nice to meet you spoonbender

Post by geodude »

What an interesting evening. :thumbup: It involved;

Meeting spoonbender
riding about 25 miles
Stopping for fuel
spoonbender's key breaking in fuel cap
bodging ingition but no apparent way to re-fuel
spare key 70 miles away
140 mile round trip to london and back to pick up spare key - two up on an F650 GS
get back to fuel station where bike was left - closed
10 mile trek to next petrol station
headed home

Knackered!!

Night

ZZZZzzz...

lolz sounds a proper disaster!!!

suggest you get a spare key from that 'keys in the post' site
& warning - it is an absolute bitch of a job trying to drill the lock out of the fuel cap so dont bother. :Ball Kick:

I feel partly guilty for this as I was there when Spoonbender bent his key, and I was going to post that he needs to get a new key as that one will break soon.

Can't express my gratitude enough, George  . I owe you big time. Call me anytime on 07930 115 657 if you need a lift to some obscure location hundreds of miles away, or a website, .

As for the key -- ordered a new one yesterday, from that 'keys in the post' site.

A website you say!! lol Did you check out my wordpress site?

We will have to hook up again soon before the weather starts getting shitty and the light goes. Maybe next week or something? I'll check my calendar.

Well, I'm a web developer, so, you know, websites are, like, my stuff 8)

Hooking up would be nice. Just got the storm back from the service -- got a new rear tyre, rear brake rotor and new pads of course. AND, they fixed up one very crucial thing -- the steering column was tightened up too tight apparently. It steers completely differently now. Apparently, it was tightened up to a quite dangerous level. Did a quick ride after that -- it's completely different, much less resistance, and it's now awesome!

Ah ok, I might talk to you about moving away from wordpress and to something else at some point then :)

What is your calendar like for next week?
