I have Wezmoto ones on my bike. Cheaper than the above mentioned top brand names but they do the job and do feel a lot better than the original ones I replaced.
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes, I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.

Braided S/S lines will belp, but the brakes will still be shite [in my opinion :D ], getting CBR600 calipers and master cyl from a breakers is the best money you can spend.

your new lines will still work  , but your new pads wont fit

I have been told to use sintered pads instead of the standard type. Has anybody had any experience with these??

I have s/s brake lines (HEL), EBC discs and sintered pads. Brakes are very good now and quite prgressive, which is what I prefer.

However, if you still have sloppy standard forks then better brakes will only mean more diving on braking and more frustration, so both need to be done at the same time from my own experience.
Two bikes, still only four cylinders!
