manifold temp?

Post by wiltsdan »

Right then, just found some paint with stainless steel solids in it (aerosol) , it says on the tin it is ok for up to 600 deg,c.
Can i use it on my manifold/header pipes? or do they run hotter?
Cheers.........Dan. :?:

I am sure they don't go over 400 ish deg, but, I put some 1000 deg lacquer on mine to protect them and when they got hot, it went sticky, then brown, then started smoking and made a right mess.

I'll do a test spot first before i get too involved.
.............took a bit of clearing-up after cheep stella down the local British Legeon the other night, so I might just leave the pipes as they are
