Import

Post by ips »

I'm looking at possible buying a 1999 S Reg European Import Firestorm.
It has MPH speedo & UK headlight, are there any other differences between an import and UK spec bike?
Will servicing and spare parts be an issue.
Any info please.

Thanks

Ian.

As far as I know, there's no difference (other than the one's you mentioned). If you have a service agreement, it should be honoured by any Honda dealer. If any dealer refuses/charges extra etc, let Honda know and they'll sort 'em out!

No probs, I have a French import, '98 storm, the only thing that I had read was they were limited to 100bhp, when I had mine on the dyno and it showed 110bhp I was pretty happy.

Oh...... that and it's left hand drive, can catch you out when approaching roundabouts as it wants to got the other way!!!!!!

Have fun

When I looked into buying an import, the only issue I found was if you bought new, the warranty was with that dealer and not Honda, therefore problems and servicing would have to be carried out at the place you bought it.

If your buying a bike out of the warranty period, not an issue.
If its got MPH and the light pointing the correct way, should be fine.

Good luck
