A PENSIONER sparked the slowest ever police chase on the A12 after she refused to stop for cops...driving at 10mph.

Caroline Turner, 76, caused a major police operation after driving the wrong way round a roundabout in Thorpe and veering on to the wrong side of the road into the path of oncoming vehicles.

She was followed by an unmarked police car from Thorpe to Weeley, to the A120 and on to the A12.

Her speed varied from 10mph to 20mph during the 27-mile “chase”.

Nightmares?
Not as bad as one experienced by the police person who followed her at 10-20 mph for 27 miles without finding a way to overtake and stop her.

That piss-taking will last at least a whole career, and rightly so.
Even on a bicycle.....

A GREAT-GRANDMOTHER who sparked a 10mph police chase can get behind the wheel again after her driving ban was overturned.

Caroline Turner, 77, was stopped by police on the A12 after leading officers on a 17-mile chase from Thorpe to Marks Tey last October.

After being kept in a police cell overnight, she admitted driving without due care and attention and failing to stop for the police at Colchester Magistrates Court, where she was banned from driving for a year and ordered to pay £200 in fines and costs.

Now, at a hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court, she successfully appealed the sentence, claiming it was too harsh.

A spokesman for the Crown Prosecution Service said her 12 month driving ban had been replaced with eight penalty points, allowing her to drive her Ford Fiesta again.

Great-grandmother, 79, banned from driving after leading police on 27 mile chase at 10mph is banned AGAIN after knocking down a pedestrian on a zebra crossing
...speaking after the hearing, the pensioner vowed to get back behind the wheel as soon as possible - saying: 'I have every intention of driving the car again, so there.'

OMG

My initial thought was the same as Al's and Tony is right as well. What a waste of time. I do wonder sometimes. Why did they not stop her sooner. :confused

God almighty, now she's knocked a pedestrian down as well. Glad I don't live near her.
