race scrubs

Post by Jazzscot »

I managed to get my hand on two sets of race scrubed tyres today. Both sets have loads of tread left and have had minimal use.

set 1 is Pirelli diablo supercorsas
set 2 metzeler racetec

Anybody used these brands before and which set do I try out first???

If you use it in winter or in the wet i wouldn't use any scubs.
However if you only use it in the dry as i do stick the Pirelli diablo supercorsas.
I have them fitted they grip very well when wormed up and they do slip when cold and they dont last long.
I get about 2000 miles out a set .

I'm using race scrubbed racetek k2s now. They are mint. Gave me the confidence to get my knee down for the first time ever :-)

they are both excatly the same tyre m8 with a slightly different tread pattern.
pirelli & metz = same company.
theyre even made in the same factory lol.
i love hearing folk say one is better than the other

some say racetecs are better in the wet.... maybe they are as they have a slightly more defined tread cut, but only slightly. ( i use both and cant say i noticed a difference)
neither are ideal for wet roads but they are useable if you remember the road is wet!
if you dont, they will remind u!

first set of supercorsa scrubs i used on the firestorm i got 5700 out of the rear and only changed it when i got a puncture... and i do not hang around lol, used all the profile

one other thing though.,,,, keep your eye out for a set of michelin power one scrubs... a lot of the guys on 600s use them for practice & qualifying.
they are fkin awesome on the storm :)
seriously i have never used a more confidence inspiring tyre.

i picked up a mint set of 120/190 power ones last night for the sp1 - just as well cos i trashed the racetec rear today round hawes!
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

2nd That about the power ones
Best dry tyre I've used on the storm
It took a lot to get the rear to brake grip even when cold

Can't ride but it don't stop me trying
