is a bugger to keep clean though, especially now as it has matching white wheels!

(not for long though) :shh:

after a spirited summer ride through swarms of flies it looks like someone's sacrificed a chicken over it lol, and the road grime, chain grease & brake dust is a swine to get off the rims.... but i strongly recommend Arco hard surface cleaner - £5 a gallon!!! 8O awesome stuff = spray on & rinse off.

bike looks a bit different since those pics... it is now finished in an even brighter white with more protective black trim.. i kept the laser cans though straightened them up after kev's mrs complained! and did a few other bits like change the indicators and fit harris rearsets.

in the words of mr walsh... i like it.

i came very close to copying benny, i liked his bike that much, i actually like the way the exhausts turn in on themselves.
i think the white works best if you powdercoat the frame black tho, top work benny.........

agreed mate looks sh1t hot does that with the powder coated frame, gonna ask him how much and were he got it done as hes not to far away from me and seing as the bikes stripped down perfect time for it.

plus puts the creeps on other road users when they see a white bike on the approach in the rear view mirror :)

not sure Benny powder coated the frame.........from what I remember after looking at it in Wales it was a paint job, and I think benny even managed to do it with the engine still in the frame..........only a bit of overspray on the coolant expansion tank!

my mate had blue indicator bulbs and a white car so he could scare other road users when approaching from behind, it works a treat.....

They look good on a gixxer, if it's an original one, IMHO, but not much else.
But by do they show the chain lube.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

yeh when i binned it i got a new subframe and did it in satin black hammerite... then thought balls to it i'll do the rest in the same, fork legs, frame, swing arm etc... was still undecided on the colour til i put primer on the new fairing and tank, then decided to go for the white.

thing is with hammerite, it isnt fuel proof and so every time i took the tank off or spilled a bit refuelling it looked a mess, but i put up with it cos i cba taking the engine out.
now its out anyway for a rebuild so the frame is getting stripped proper.
took the black off (most of it) and its mint underneath so again im undecided whether to go for a full on black powder coating job or just polish it up nice

& yes, the wheels will be getting coated back in black cos i cba with the white. :Ball Kick:

Is this the stuff benny? http://www.arco.co.uk/buy/products/1942 ... eaner.html

Is it ok on aluminium etc?

I can't seem to find a decent traffic film remover, the ones that clean well, put streaks on aluminium and can bleach the paintwork, the bike specific ones that are 'aluminium safe' are crap. :?

If so I have a trade account with arco so happy days!

yes thats the stuff m8.... its ok to use on ally but it will dull it if you leave it on. same with paintwork.
it works just as good (if not better) if you dilute it 50/50 with hot water in a spray bottle.
spray it on, leve it 5 mins & rinse away.
beltin stuff, well better than muk off and other bike stuff.

i just use it on the parts that need it, ie under the sidestand, hugger, under the engine, the wheel rims etc..
its also good for pre-spray degreaser.

I'm looking to respray n the near future. Possibly in white. I haven't decided yet. Anyhow, benny, did you use a spraycan for the frame or was i a proper sprayer-thingy? You know, with a compressor? (couldn't remember what it's called in english) 8O
Oh, well!! Could've been worse...
