exhaust wrap.
Been thinking about this for while now. I would like to wrap my ark system in black wrap. What's the pro's 'n' con's to this all. Is it just for looks?

Mainly an American fad without any real proven benefit. If you want pretty headers, that don't look scruffy, splash out instead on ceramic coating.
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

exhausts are wrapped to insulate them. keeping the heat in increases the speed of the exhaust gas, (hot gasses travel faster than cold ones).
definately a proven benefit on highly tuned motors, (drag race etc).
on a std road bike? just for looks.

I am kinda in two minds about doing it. I do have some wrap left from my ol' man doing his harley.
I got nothing to hide behide like rotting down pipes as some one said to me before but i think i might wrap it and see

Also demonstrates up to a 5% reduction in engine compartment temp on fully faired bikes, although thats not such an issue with side mounted rads on the vtr front pot and pipe, but may help reduce rear pot temp by a fraction.
A mate did it on his rsv-r's rear downpipe as it runs so close to the rear ohlins that it affects shock temp when pressing on or on track. Noticeable improvement apparently.
