MWR Airfilters opportunity

Post by Flatline »

I have been talking to this guy about making an airfilter for the VTR

http://racingairfilters.eu/?ids=kop3

This was his reply
About the VTR1000 , send me the airbox and I make something .
You can send me a e-mail and talk about this projest further of what we can make for these bikes , what would be intresting to make
I have asked him for a price

Is anyone able to donate an airbox?

I will pay the postage

This was his answer to my question about pod filters for my Ducati
Yeah I know it's difficult , hundreds of guys who know it better
You must figger out for yourself what you want , and what is the most important issue for your bike. Do you want the max. power (Pod filters) with the biggest risk to get you engine damaged or do you wanna go safe with a little less gains.

I have also a big oval pod filter on my 900 SL , I know what I'm doing , I know when the filter is dirty and because I have to clean & pre-oil almost everyday it's for me no problem . Annother problem is because the difference between the Pod filter and std is so big it's also very difficult to adjust your bike right , when you choose for K&N these filters are so small the difficulty to adjust your bike is much easier . The risk of dirt inside is because the filters are not protected specially with rain , my filters protect very well but they , way better as the competition but don't expect miricals.
You see now with the Hypers & SC's questions coming up , why is mu bike using oil , they all have the podfilters.
Podfilters are nice and powerfull on the short turm , but on the long turm it will cost you lots of money.

Or you can choose for our open airbox filter , on my website you can find a powercurve of a std '94 900ss ,with adjust the jets. These gain are not far away from the Pod filters , the plate protects that water flows inside .

I have a spare one I will be happy to donate, assuming I get a test sample to evaluate
I can also supply the long and short air intakes as well, as the position and angles of those will affect where the shield plate will need to sit.

But the foam will need to be supported on a metal grid or gauze, because otherwise the filter is unsupported and will be sucked into the intakes, particularly the rear one.

Let me know?
