MCN bike show at the Excel

Post by Kev L »

The show had all the major manufacturers displaying their latest offerings, and in Hondas case a display of every model of the Fireblade -

There are some bargains to be had as well, BKS leathers half price amongst others.
The Revolution show was brilliant with a top stunt show and racing between Doug Lampkin, John McGuiness, Niall McKenzie, Neil Hodgson & Chris Walker as well as plenty of pretty ladeeez.

If I had paid the £25 door fee I think I would have been disapointed with the amount of exhibitors but as I got mine at Xmas for £10 each, it was good value.

We took a ride over to the Excel Bike show a couple of years ago. Manged to stay there for a least two hours, one of which was spent in the bar. Was a total waste of time and have not bother with another trip over. Hope you enjoyed it though.

PS. are they still parking the bikes as far from the entrance as possible.....we had a long walk to get to the entrance whilst car drivers parked just outside....

Bike parking was shown as in the underground car park right beneath the hall where the show is. The Revolution show is worth a look on it's own, with an excellent stunting team, freestyle jumpers (one does 360 spins with what looks about 1 foot clearance from the roof spars!). The races were a hoot with world champions attempting to knock each other into the barriers to win on little Honda 100 trail bikes, so much so that in practice for the event poor old Ian Hutchinson broke his leg again and they shipped in Nial McKenzie to take his place.
If you want a look at the new models with the prospect of some cheap kit then it's worth a look, however I think there are less stalls than previous years.
We had no problem filling four hours mooching about.
