Newbie 2

Post by Fester »

Hi

New here, just joined :)

Ordered a new FireStorm today, after much deliberation (was either a Storm or an SP2), so am looking forward to getting it in a week or so time. Have ordered colour matched lowers (PowerBronze), hugger, scottoiler, Baglux tank cover, to start with.

Was gonna get the hugger colour matched too (bike will be Tahitian Blue), but a mate said it'll look "like a tarts handbag" 8O

Will it dew think?

Also, at some point I want different exhaust, but it must be road legal, and preferably high mount (even better underseat, like the Staintune(which isn't road legal  ). So, to save me wading through all the posts and looking at all the sites, can anyone list for me those that ARE road legal, sound nice, look nice, and are high mount (if there are any!)?

TIA

you should cancel that order and buy my VTR, mucho mucho better then a stock one. BSB chassis, quick release wheels (dymags), AP brakes, moriwaki titanium system, moriwaki engine parts, full of titanium, 122rwhp, 170kgs, well loved and on 3000 miles, spa dash, QD oil lines. Err basically the only thing that is standard is the tank.

Welcome over to the dark side fella
I take it that you are in the UK, seen as you are concerned about road legal cans? Now I would of thought that the Staintunes would be legal as they come with removable end plugs which arn't ment to be a hell of a lot noisier that the stocks.

Hi back - yep, live in Tewkesbury England.

The Staintunes (made in Oz) are sold as 'race use only' in this country, so it would be a gamble to fit them. I've already checked with my insurance company who told me (unfortunately a not very 'with it' operator) that the cans must be road legal for my insurance to remain valid, so in the event of a claim I may come 'unstuck'. Then again I may not, but am not willing to take the risk.

I think I'll post the question again, as a direct question about exhausts.
