Powder Coating

Post by simo »

Want to change the colour of some wheels that are already powder coated. Does it all have to come off to powder coat another colour? Would have to be a very course grit or bead which might make a mess of the alloy. Anybody had experience?

I just had a set blasted and painted, they got the original finish off with no problem at all.
Actually I just thought, is the original Honda finish painted on or PC'd? I have always assumed it was PC'd.

That being the case I am a lot less worried about having a paint finish on my wheels now. I would still imagine blasting with the right grit would make short work of powdercoat though. Cheers Al.
