Hyperpro advise please
Hi to everyone,
Just about to put the storm back on the road for the year and thought it was time I fitted the Hyperpro springs from Road and Race, is there a recommended drop for everyday riding that will help with the overall feel of the front end or will the springs be all I need?
Thanks Greg

Re: Hyperpro advise please
mines dropped 15mm which tbh is extreme, but then ive lowered the back end as well.
bike feels tiny lol!
10mm is a good starting point.
if youve jacked the rear with a shock spacer & are a lanky fker you may not need to drop the front at all.

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.
Re: Hyperpro advise please
I've gone 8mm at the rear and 7mm at the front.
Feels nice!

Re: Hyperpro advise please
Well springs arrived just in time for the weekend when suddenly mothers day stopped play, so next weekend looks good but am I correct in thinking the spacer inside the fork is no longer required?

Re: Hyperpro advise please
Yes, not required, which is probably how they work better than the std ones...
I've fitted several of these now, for various members, and they work effectively straight out of the box, with three rings showing. The oil they send with them is ok, too.
If you already have a 6mm spacer under the shock mount I'd start there and see what it feels like.
You can drop them in the yokes a bit, but it gets wriggly when accelerating over uneven surfaces, depends if you like that sort of thing.
Remember the 6mm rear spacer actually sits the tail up 19mm, so that's quite a bit already.
But 5 or 10mm drop is usually enough,- it compromises ground clearance though, that's the trade-off.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Re: Hyperpro advise please
Thanks Tony that seems reasonable but I am a bit of a short elbow so lifting the rear is a bit of a problem, all the forks are done now but found a flat spot on the headstock so have ordered some of those ALL BALLS twin taper kits. Had a baby monster before this and certainly would like to get that front end feeling, a great bike otherwise.
Re: Hyperpro advise please
sorry to jump in on your thread but standard rear spring the adjuster mines turned to the second from last highest point does going lower soften the spring and what does this do to the handling?
Re: Hyperpro advise please
Depends on your weight and riding style.
Play about with the settings and see what difference it makes.

Still gotta play with it, mate.
But I can see why you have it set where you do.
Check it's right by going a notch either way, give it a chance for a few miles as any change feels strange at first, even if it's in the right direction.

Re: Hyperpro advise please
Well Hyperpro kit and a 5mm drop together with the new head race certainly gives the bike more of that feeling it was missing and ultra quick steering in comparison to standard. Cant recommend the All Balls enough as they where very easy to fit with a piece of studding for the cups and tube for the bottom race. Don't be put of by the Muppet's on you tube smashing the sh1t out of them with a piece of wood with parts in the oven and freezer. Only thing to note is when you remove the old ones put the top seal in with the new kit as it's not included and easy to forget.
