mothers day tradgedy

Post by karenvtr »

Me my hubby and our friend Si met up with some other bikers sunday morning at Mc Ds on the a59..we all introduced ourselves then off we went for windermere..sun shining roads not too busy we were havin a great day ..popped over kirkstone pass..down shap and onto sedbrough then it all went wrong :(
I was third in the pack when we started on the slow twisties up the valley we were just bumbling along when Gary in front of me hit a patch of gravel back end skipped he lost control..not gonna go into detail but what i saw will haunt me forever.

It was the first day id met gary ,he was 63 and an experienced rider he wasnt going fast or doing anything stupid ...my heart goes out to his family and friends at this difficult time R.I.P Gary
Take care out there everyone ,ride safe...keep your wits about you.

That is tragic ending to a normal day for all us bikers, my thought go out to the family and also to you and the others who witnessed the tradgedy

Sad to hear, my condolences to you all.

Isn't it often the way, you don't have an accident when really chancing it, but get unlucky just riding around- no warning, stuff happens.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

just saw this on another site - RIP to gary & condolences to his family & friends :(

hope you get over this Karen. I've also lost 2 mates on rides over the years and you never forget them.
very sad but at least he died doing what he loved, and with friends.
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Always sorry to hear about any biker getting killed or injured. As they say, live every day as if it were your last because one day you WILL be proved right.

Feelings for you Karen for what you witnessed and deepest sympathies for those left behind. :(

What they said. :(

Just goes to show you just how dangerous this game we play really is. Neighbour told me the other day his brother was side slammed off his bike the other day. 5 hr op to save his leg, another op to fit a metal plate. Strikes things home when its someone you know.

RIP biker dood.
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes, I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.
