Brake Banjo Thread Pitch

Post by Rampant Lion »

HI..can anyone tell me the pitch of the thread on the banjo bolt, 1.00 or 1.25. I'm putting braided lines on the front, gonna install a double banjo bolt and run two lines down to the calipers. Thanks..

Have just fitted the two brake lines on my storm, how are you going to secure the right hand line? Possibly using the original 'T' securing bolt and a piece of folded metal?

You can also use a ww clip and secure them both parallel but alongside each other, screwed into the same position.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

No internet access through the week, for normal. Not done the job yet. Looks like this weekend maybe.

Secured mine to the other hose by using the outer rubber sleeve from the original brake lines. You will find that both stainless lines slip through easily. Also helps to stop the new lines touching the plastics. Also used the original fixings and then again using bits of rubber sleeve to pack up the hole a bit. Nearly forgot to allow extra length of new stainless pipe to accomodate the fork movement..touch and go that was. I chose bar risers that are 3 inch up and one and a half inches back. Then used renthal superbike bars off my old bandit 1200. Superb position. Did not need to take too much of the plastics and screen either. Mirrors are hopeless though, great view of my knuckles. Will get some mirror extenders, that should do nicely. Will put up some photos when I go look how to do it.
