Anyone tried long stacks?
Anyone tried long stacks?
Has anyone on here had long stacks fitted to a storm? Did it make any power difference? Did it effect mpg?

Re: Anyone tried long stacks?
yes and yes and yes
if you like riding in the middle rpm range then two long are for you .
they give you more grunt where you like it .
more fuel because you ride it more

Re: Anyone tried long stacks?
its better with the dc hondas stacks
but you loose a little of the top with 2 normal long stacks but you gain in the lo-mid range
2 small for top end

Re: Anyone tried long stacks?
You lose a little bit of top end revs but honestly these motors make nearly all their power in the mid range so you dont really notice it I love the difference the second long stack made.

Re: Anyone tried long stacks?
in fairness i'm not interested in 150mph speeds, for me its about 0 to 120mph.........thump thump thump!!!!!!
HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!!
Re: Anyone tried long stacks?
The Dr Honda parts boost midrange and keep the top end, and they sound horny as the gulp air into the engine as you give it big handfulls. They give the bike a real eager edge

Now that does sound appealing. Does the fuelling need tinkering with and is it easy to get them ?AMCQ46 wrote:The Dr Honda parts boost midrange and keep the top end, and they sound horny as the gulp air into the engine as you give it big handfulls. They give the bike a real eager edge

Re: Anyone tried long stacks?
Fuelling feels close without any changes from my last setup (BMC filter, race cans and a dyno jet kit) but might need a bit of a tweak on the idle air screw, as it is more prone to cough stalls.
I plan to get it onthe dyno as I want to see what they did for the power curve before and after.
They are from the USA so you have to pay freight and import duty, but still easy to get.

Does anyone have a link for dr hondas billet aluminium long v stacks?
Also a quick description on how to fit em for a thicko like me. Before you get too technical, imagine you're talking to a small child, or maybe even a labrador!

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
