When changing gear at high rpm I have started getting a lot of clutch slip. What is the most likely cause of this?
I am using castrol semi-synthetic oil as before.
Should I just go ahead and chnge the clutch plates or is there something easier I could do?
Bike has only done 45k so I wouldn't have expected the plates to have gone

change the oil before you do anyhing m8.
mine always starts to slip a bit when its due.
fresh oil usually sorts it.
you havent used car oil have u with antifriction additives???? its no good for wet clutches.

if its been slipping a while though, the metal plates could be blued, in which case they will need changing too.

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

SHOULD BE GOOD FOR 4-5K EASY TBH.....
mine was slipping at 5k so i started doing it every 3, with new filter every other oil change.
might be worth you inspecting the plates m8, or just replace them.
dont forget the casing gasket & new coolant.
its also worth before you do anything, just pop the sprocket cover & slave off and make sure its clean, and the pushrod clean too.
bleed the slave / replace fluid, just to make sure its not a problem at that end before you go to the extent of changing the plates.
its an easy job tho tbh, dont even have to drop the oil if you lean the bike right over to the left

OK. Thanks a lot for the advice. I did'nt consider tht the coolant would need draining down
I'll probably just go ahead and change the clutch plates at the weekend as jazz of here has got some he can.

Definitely worth removing the front sprocket cover (as Benny says) first.
