anyone done this or know if it's possible and works? Just having a day dream about what may be possible.

Ceramic coating you want m8. Have a google for a local firm that does it.
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.
