strip down for summer.

Post by Hobiephil »

started at last,
seat off, under tray off, elec harness tidied and labled.
battery out.
Now i'm on to changing the seat configuration, bear in mind i'm speaking my thoughts to you all, do I remove existing seating framework and re-fabricate ? metal and fibreglass. Can I buy off the shelf single seat etc. Do I get 2nd hand R1 seat ?? Also does removing the existing seat metalwork give me big problems later, I can't forsee any that I can't over apart from re-siting the elecs.
Off for tea now then back for a look, and more pics on the phone for reference.
Serious question will i get away with one rear LED unit for "red, white, and indicators", been told possibly not, maybee i'll ask suppliers ?

Changing the rear end is easy if you have patience lol half wau through doing something similar on mine with an R6 seat etc.

Biggest problem I've found to be so far is having to extend the negative battey cable as the seat etc is too shallow to use the original configuration. Have a look in the pimp my ride section at the goose goes naked thread.

Good luck with it and make sure you take pics

surely this should be a winter project??
wouldnt make sense to me to take a bike off the road at the beginning of riding season lol - even though we havent seen much summer yet!
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.
