2long stacks + new filter and plugs = a new feeling bike!

Post by Pyro »

seriously, its just so much keener through the gears, its made so much difference for so little money im blown away, i did a quick blast at lunchtime and its like a new bike!
theres a delicious honk from the airbox that i swear wasnt there before, and what feels like an extra 10 bhp right where you can use it the most..su-fackingpurb!
i cant say how much is due to the stacks and how much is plugs and filter cos they went on at the same time but its chalk and cheese difference fo sure! :biggrin

new chain & sprockets and cush drive rubbers makes a massive difference too - not to the power so much, but in drive and smoothness.
feels great with no juddery vibration and snatching

so next time you have the rear wheel off, dig your nail in the rubbers (or what's left of them) if they are broken / cracked or feel hard (not rubbery but more like plastic) then it's time you changed them.

£35 may seem steep for new rubbers but it does make a big difference to how the bike feels - something that always gets overlooked until they fall apart lol
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

100% agree Benny, as is just correctly tensioning your chain!
cush drive was new when i powdercoated the wheels, as were the chain and sprockets. 500ish miles ago? its all starting to gel together into a nice tight package now anyway. the lack of rattling CCTs feels nice as well! (thanks Rider)

I would second Benny, I change my cush drive rubbers every two years along with the air filter and I reckon along with my scottolier I have not needed to adjust the chain in a year, and I do approx 3-4K a year.

Don't you take it off to polish it at weekends?
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
