Just for those who think about new bore. It was quite tough to find anybody willing to do bore on V cylinders in crankcase. Hope it will be done in three weeks.

Another point is to Japan.Webike.Net: Delivery took one week including tax and duty. Price on oem parts is about 60% lower after tax and duty (26% in my case, incl. 21% VAT) compared to EU prices. So if you consider buying more OEM parts, and total price is over 50 000 JPN (free shipping), it is definitely worth.

I like the design of the crown on them. A little different form the JE's and more like Mori's. They don't have the ridge running down the the centre and have gained the compression from the top outside circumference where they have closed the combustion area up more by bringing it inwards. The lubrication holes around the inside ring area are interesting too.

yes, I choose flat top instead of pistom dome, it could be performing slightly better. But at the end, I doubt there will be any difference to JE. This piston has two advantages, fresh bore with new clearance and perfect round honing, and small addition of 8cc.

There is no need for it, crankshaft is balanced separately. You can use whatever pistons and rods you wish, if they are same weight front and rear. V90 is partly selfbalancing it.

Guess we'll have to agree to disagree. I put lighter pistons and rods in mine and had it re-balanced; curiously, without having given the shop that did the balancing the specs on the weights before/after, they somehow removed virtually the same weight from the crank as what had been lost by the new parts.... draw your own conclusions....

Mik: no problem. Roger gave me this info, he mentioned lighter rods and flywheel when we discussed it, but I assume piston is the same story.
Again, I see some extreme flywheel lightening here, think it is more abusing.

But to do the crank rebalance cannot be bad thing, that' s for sure.

More I think about, it doesnt make sense to me. Crankshaft is balanced separately from rods and flywheel, engine is designed this way, rebalance together with rods and pistons cannot improve anything.

Had you know this information when doing your engine?

And there is no like matching the weight of crankshaft and rods and pistons. I can imagine lighter crank and heavy pistons can do some harm, but lighter pistons in this case could be even beneficial for for crank shell bearings.

No offense here, I just like to think about these things ...
