Any Advise Please

Post by pariah »

Partners Hornet needs new rear tyre. It got Bridgstone BT014 on the front and bridgestone 020 on the rear, the fronts fine just the rear needs replacing.
Been priced at £140 for new 020 fitted at local dealer, shes dont ride her bike fast and hard, more say potters therefore high priced tyres for her style of riding just seems a waste of money so was thinking which other make of tyre I could have fitted to the rear . Maxxis seem good for the price, but it all boils down to this issue of matching front and rear stuff that seems to come from the people that make the tyres so you keep buying theres.
Any ideas on this chaps :problem:

Matching is all about profiles and grip levels rather than lock-ins to a mnfr.

Why not get a cheap pair of Maxxi's then keep the front as a spare?

You can beat that price, though.
I always phone around first, then call my local dealer and tell them what I've been quoted, and ask if they can match it.
They usually do...
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
