Indisputable physics settles "which colour is fastest"

Post by Pyro »

For those not schooled in the physical sciences there is a phenomenon called red shift- this is an interstellar version of the dopplar effect, where the pitch of the sound from an approaching train or car etc changes as it passes and moves away from a static observer. in red shift it can be demonstated that the spectrum of light from a star or galaxy that is moving away from us gets shifted towards the red end, that is that red light arrives before light from the blue end, demonstrating that red is undisputabaly faster than any other colour, with blue being the slowest.
scientific fact. debate over. :biggrin

What a load of rubbish.

While your talking about light being fast and red light being the fastest form of light you've missed one important fact. For light to arrive there has to be something there before it. This is what we call darkness in the scientific word and if you go into any room at night you will find that before you can turn the light on, darkness is there before the light.

Therefore the colour that is faster than any light is the colour of darkness. So what is the colour of darkness? Why thats black of course! There isnt a well known phrase "Its pitch black in here" for no reason. People dont say its pitch red because red light got there first!

Here endeth the lesson.
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes, I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.

Ah but black isnt a colour dear boy, its an absence of colour, so its excluded from this debate as it doesnt exist. if the arguement is which is the COOLEST shade of bike then everyone knows black is, but that aint the point in question.

dont be silly, white light is what you get when you combine all the other colours together. So work out the average between the fastest and slowest and you'll find white. You'll be fast because you contain red light but that will be counter acted by the slow blue light. Still wont be as fast as black though.
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes, I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.

Red! Pah!

Sounds like a load of bullshift to me

I do like the fact that us silver owners don't bother join the colour debate very much

We are confident in our choice, no matter what others say

That's why I fell off at 195mph in the 90' right hand bend, in the wet, in Wales............cos its fast

Good job I had slowed down otherwise it could have been worse. Pheww!

tbh you can have the fastest bike in the world but if you're a lardass pussy rider who's scared of riding it proper then you'll always be at the back, getting overtook by cg125s and dayglo dereks on placcy 90s.

see it all the time... hrc stickers, gilles rearsets, pre-grindered slideys.... and square tyres :Ball Kick:

i think a forum trackday is in order

let's face it though.... standard firestorms are just not fast lol.
it's like arguing who has the fastest snail

Let's choose a track and have a track day as the next op Storm

Key is not to treat it as a race, and you will learn more about your bike than you ever thought it could do....but obviously at the end you look at lap times :D

We will need at least one of each colour
To make this work :-)
I will start looking for some race leathers

for track days you can still use 2 piece leathers as long as they zip all the way round, not just at the back.

no textiles & trainers lol

dont forget to take your mirrors off and put bolts through the mounts.

is also an idea to unplug your indicator relay so you dont look like a tit indicating.
and tape over the speedo ;)
