Subframe replacement

Post by Flatline »

Decided to change the rear subframe as mine is bent

Got one from 71geoff, thanks buddy

Stripped it down and sprayed it with satin hammerite

So here we are at the end of the day with a few pictures :)

What else should I consider doing whilst it's in bits like this?

Now would be a good time to fit an undertray I would think

What else?

If you are fitting an udertray you could modify the original honda one. Cut out the sections for the D lock etc to make more luggage space. Just a thought. It's something I was considering.

The new subframe is looking very good mate. Nice colour  I used spray Hammerite smooth on my top yolk and it took forever to dry.

Good job.

Yep, it takes a while, and re-coating whilst the paint is wet goes against the grain but its given a really good finish

Marty, bring it up and I'll do it for you m8!!

On the under tray, there is a small mudflap

It had a slight curve to one side

Does this point forwards or backwards?

i left that off mine mate as it had a hugger fitted.
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.
