would you use one off these quick release fuel tap thingys

when i fit my 19ltr tank i want to fit a fuel tap or quick release valve, i like th one with the 90 degree angle, it would kill two birds with one stone. but is it a quality item, will it leak, will it last very long??????
its probably to cheap to be quality.
so would any of you guys use one of these ?????????

IIRC the fuel hoses are 10mm ID so 8mm might restrict fuel flow at high speed. I couldn't find a readily available 10mm QR so used 10mm brass hose connector clamped up at a more accessible part of the hose routing where I cut and rejoined.

mr mon uses 8mm and assures me it won't be a problem unless i can ride like rossi...
theres lots of Q/R valves on ebay ranging between £6 and £20, the reason i like the one listed above is because of the 90 degree angle which would mean it saves me bending a fuel line or buyibg a seperate elbow.
don't get me started on the blingy stuff, i wanted to use braided steel lines with aeroquip connectors hahahahahaha

these look decent quality thaught abouyt them for ages sure makes tank on off opp's a lot easier

If you connect up two 8mm connectors, and let them drain a full tank into a container it'll be empty in less than five minutes.
So unless you can empty a fuel tank through your carbs in less than five minutes the flow rate is fine.

If it were a single one on a later model, then I'd suggest a 10mm connector, but using twin 8mm ones you won't have any issues.

BSM, first concern is the connectors your looking at are the same as the ones on my Corsa, they are quick release but not to for repeated use. Allso both items that have been shown don't 'seem' to have non-return valves in them, worth checking.

Mr mon, if you were to use 80mm pipes for the fuel lines it would also increase fuel capacity to about 100 gallons.....just a thought

We came up with a better one at the last ws day- HUGE float bowls......

Re the seals and repeated use- yes, you're correct, they're not for repeated use, but I only connect or disconnect when the tank comes off- not that often.
And you can replace the little neoprene seals- Halfords do a box of assorted seals for a few pounds.
As long as they're petrol rated they'll last quite awhile.

For those who don't take their tank off every few days, they'll probably last the life of the bike.
