Big Thank You to Flatline, Bud & Mr Mon's technical helpline

Post by tasum »

Just wanted to say a big thank you to Flatty who gave up most of his day today swapping my cct's and helping me fit my new baffles the previous day.

Several trips and a lot of patience while I sat on the spanner we needed resulted in a job well done.

Cheers mate, I know you're a pal and so have to help, but I really do appreciate it, especially when your bike's still in bits. Thanks mate you're a true pal :) :) :) :)

Also a quick thank you to Mr Mon for assisting with a couple of phone queries. Thank you. It never fails to impress me how much knowledge people on this forum have and how selflessly they hand it out to those of us less technically able. :Group Hug:

Bud, ta for the fork spacer as well :D :D :D :D

Thank you all, but especially Flatty, Mr Mon and Bud for having a spacer just knocking around. :Worship1:

:Mexican Wave: :Mexican Wave: :Mexican Wave:

I can't tell you how much I love my new red missile. I'm just getting to know her and learning how to ride. I love it. :D

I'm just wondering how long it will take before you decide you don't want baffles anymore. :biggrin

Your'e welcome Posum, you can get yourself booked in for the Sept meeting now

The baffles are a big improvement

Whilst without sounds good in a helmet, they were just too antisocial, even on tickover

The new baffles have taken off the edge and made the sound much better

And they still sound awesome!!

yes mr mcq, they do take away the very deep booming, but are still nice and throaty :D :D

thank you again for your kind baffle loan offer, I will catch a video with the baffles for those that are interested.

I live in a bit of an oap area (no offence flatty), so keeping the noise to just below the ear bleeding level may not be what I would want in an ideal world, but it should prevent anyone suggesting my mid-life crisis is anti social as well as painful to behold. :P :P

anyway, they work thanks to Flatty's uncanny ability to screw blind into stainless steel and get the hole to line up perfectly with the baffle. I was ready to get out the nasa handbook and my calipers, but he just took a look and drilled them in. sometimes I hate him and his skills

Still handy to have a mate who seems to be able to fix anything. He also dropped my forks by about "that" much which has improved the turning in and made it a bit tighter round the bends. Ta again.

Also a belated thank you to Mrs Flatty who kindly let us use the inside of her very house to work on the bike 'cos of the nasty rain. A very patient and tolerant lady. Thank you.

Ta all :) :)

De nada, compadre, glad it got sorted and is now safe from the threat of cct failure.
Another one saved.....
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
